Aujeszky disease
It is a viral disease, acute, worldwide spread, which affects mainly pigs, more rarely cats, dogs and rodents. It is caused by the Pseudorabies virus, from Herpesviridae family. Animals can be infected without clinical signs, and excrete virus regularly. Virulence varies with viral strain.
According to age, three forms are characterized : a nervous form, a respiratory form and a genital form. New born piglets are the most sensitive (100% mortality).Symptoms include fever and nervous system troubles.I
